The following statements explain the general terms of Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (“SDEC”) regarding the collection and processing of your personal data by SDEC.  SDEC is committed to the protection of your personal data and compliance of all applicable personal data protection laws and regulations in Malaysia.

The Personal Data Protection Act 2010 regulates the processing of personal data by the data user in a commercial transaction and protects the interest of the data subject. SDEC collects and processes the personal information you provide during your use of our application, both current and future. This data may be processed by SDEC or by third parties on our behalf, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
In order to provide our Product and/or Services effectively and efficiently, we may be required to collect certain personal information. This information may be collected manually or via our application and includes, but is not limited to:

Purposes of Processing

SDEC processes your personal data only for specific and limited purposes. You agree that all personal data collected and/or processed by SDEC may include but not be limited to the following purposes:

  • To administer customer relationship management procedures
  • To conduct research, study, assessment, survey and/or prepare reports/statistics for purpose of SDEC's business activities

SDEC may disclose your personal data to our affiliates or third parties that perform services on SDEC's behalf and in doing so we will comply with all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards. To include:

  • Regulatory bodies, government bodies or other authorities if required or authorized to do so to discharge any regulatory function under any law or in relation to any order or judgment of a court
  • Any person to whom SDEC is compelled or required to do so under the law and/or our shareholders

 

Acceptance of The Policy

You are given notice that the Products and/or Services will only be made available to you upon your accepting and expressly consenting to the terms of this Privacy Policy, where such express acceptance and consent shall be evidenced by you clicking or checking   or indicating accordingly on the relevant consent portion of the registration forms   or such other documents as may be furnished to you, as the case may be.

By so indicating your acceptance of the term of this Privacy Policy you shall be deemed to have expressly consented to the processing of your personal data by SDEC or any of its authorized agents, employees, partners and/or contractors for purposes as outlined. You hereby agree and accept that by registering and/or continuing to use the Products and/or Services, you authorize and consent to your personal data being processed by and where required, disclosed to classes of third parties as identified by SDEC for the purposes of SDEC providing the Products and/or Services to you. For the avoidance of doubt, you also hereby explicitly consent to SDEC processing any sensitive personal data relevant for such purposes.

Consent and Rights Regarding Personal Data

By providing your personal data to Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad ("SDEC"), you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the terms of this Privacy Notice, and you expressly consent to the processing of your personal data as outlined herein. In the event that you provide personal data belonging to third parties, you hereby warrant and represent that you have obtained the necessary consent from the relevant third parties for their personal data to be processed by SDEC in accordance with this Privacy Notice. If you are under the age of 18, please ensure that your parent or guardian provides their consent before you submit your personal data to SDEC.
It is not mandatory for you to provide your personal data to SDEC. However, if you choose not to provide the requested personal data, SDEC may be unable to process your application or fulfill your requests for products and/or services.
SDEC is committed to ensuring the accuracy of your personal data. Periodically, we will verify the accuracy of the personal data in our records. It is your responsibility to provide SDEC with accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.

Withdrawal of Consent and Access to Personal Data.

Notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary, you may at any time withdraw your consent for SDEC to process any part or all of your personal data. Such withdrawal must be communicated to SDEC in writing, via the contact details provided below, in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 ("PDPA"). Upon receipt of your written notice of withdrawal, SDEC will take all reasonable measures to implement your request, provided that such withdrawal does not conflict with any of SDEC’s legal obligations or other statutory requirements.
If you do not wish for your personal data to be shared with any third parties, or if you do not wish to receive solicitations regarding products or services from SDEC or its third-party partners, you may notify us in writing using the communication details provided in this Privacy Notice.
You have the right to request access to your personal data held or processed by SDEC. Upon receipt of a written request, SDEC will provide you with access to your personal data in accordance with the PDPA. For clarity, "access" under this provision means that you will be notified of the personal data held by SDEC and provided with a copy of such data in a format that SDEC deems appropriate.

Correction of Personal Data

You may at any time amend or correct your personal data in the event your data is inaccurate.
